The Taghkanic Fire Company is offering an adult CPR/AED class, at the Firehouse, (Old Route 82) on Saturday, February 25th, starting at 9am. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Learn how to perform adult CPR and how to use an AED device.
What is CPR? Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is an emergency procedure consisting of chest compressions often combined with artificial ventilation to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest. Just what is an AED? These are the devices often seen in public buildings and offices. An automated external defibrillator is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. A sophisticated yet easy to use medical device that can analyze the heart's rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.
Come and learn what all this really means, and receive a 2-year certification for $8, or skip the certification and just learn the skill - perhaps some day you'll be in a position to save someone's life.
Click on the link below to register for the class, no later than Wednesday, 2/22/23.
