It's official. Taghkanic and Gallatin have the best community volunteers! Close to 40 folks showed up at Lake Taghkanic State Park on Saturday to clean up and restore the White Trail and plant a native garden to replace a large portion of lawn in front of the Park Office.
Thanks to all the great folks who work at the Park for all their help in getting the area prepared. Thanks to Elizaville Diner for feeding us, and thanks to Almstead
Nursery and Mulch for the soil. This project was made possible by a generous Green Pastures grant from Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and support from LTSP operating fund.
There is more to be done in the garden and on the trail, and we hope to see everyone come out again for the next event! Taghkanic's Climate Smart Committee and Gallatin's Conservation Advisory Committee thank the community for their support.
