Property Assessment - Grievance Day

The Taghkanic Board of Assessment Review will hear property assessment challenges between the hours of 4pm-8pm on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 (Grievance Day), in the Town Hall located at 909 Route 82 Ancram(Town of Taghkanic), NY 12502.

Grievance day will be walk in or appointments can be made by calling or emailing the Assessor. A sign in sheet will be present at arrival. The 2025 Tentative Roll for the Town of Taghkanic can be viewed online at https://realproperty.columbiacountyny.com/.

Property owners who grieve their 2025 assessments will need to submit a Grievance Application (Form RP-524) that will be required to be brought with them to Grievance Day, which must be filled out to its entirety prior to their review. Examples of what should be brought to Grievance Day if challenging the 2025 assessment:

• A certified appraisal for valuation purposes only

• 3 comparable sales within the neighborhood that have occurred within the last 24 months.

• Proof of additional information that is to be considered when reviewing assessment, such as photos of the issue.
