Taghkanic Launches a Committee for Seniors and Caregivers

The Taghkanic Firehouse was all abuzz on Saturday, June 15th, for an evening of food, fun, and BINGO! The occasion marked the launch of the Taghkanic Senior Network, a new town committee whose mission is to “add to the quality of life of Taghkanic seniors and caregivers, by sharing information about state, county, and local resources, and offering opportunities to learn and socialize.”

More than sixty people (of all ages!) from Taghkanic, as well as neighboring towns, came to the celebration. Many rounds of BINGO were played, and winners enjoyed a great selection of prizes donated by local businesses, including Herrington’s, Alltown, Jojo’s Pizza, Taconic Wine and Liquor, and many more. Jojo's donated pizzas for hungry players, volunteers brought in homemade baked goods, and there were even submarine sandwiches from the Elizaville Diner.

Such a good time was had that TSN has decided to host another BINGO night at the Firehouse, on Saturday, July 13th from 6-7:30pm. All ages welcome.
