The Pollinator Garden is in!

Hats off to this bunch of folks who gave up their Saturday morning chores to come and plant the Native Species Pollinator Garden behind Town Hall. Tim Kennelty and his crew of volunteers planted coneflower, nodding onion, black-eyed susan, goldenrod, mountain mint, monarda and sunflower.

The plants were purchased from Behn's Best Perennials, Prairie Moon Nursery and Arthur's Point Farm with a $500 grant from the Columbia Land Conservancy. Soil was donated by Almstead Nursery and Mulch. Thanks to the Taghkanic Highway Dept for getting the yard cleaned up, The West Taghkanic Diner for the amazing biscuits, and Auggie Quiros for documenting the event. We appreciate everyone's contributions.

But mostly, thanks to Claire and Doug (below) and all the community volunteers who came out and made this a fun and easy job. We'll be doing some follow-up work in the coming weeks and may ask for help again. Stay tuned!
