During the 2024 field season, Josie, Kyle, and Laura conducted a pilot study for the Ancient Forest Project, an initiative within the scope of a larger effort to bring attention to underrecognized habitats in our landscape. Additionally, this winter, we have been working on creating a map of "Potentially Ancient Forest Remnants of Columbia County." Join us for this presentation as we share the mapping and the results of the pilot. We will be highlighting the insights gained and questions that remain, delving into the organisms we studied, and discussing our plans for moving forward with this project.
