Taghkanic's Taconic Wine & Spirits

Come support a local business and mingle with the neighbors...

Taconic Wine & Spirits in the old Miller's Tavern, 920 SR 82.

𝗜𝗡 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗣 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚, 𝗙𝗥𝗜. 𝟭𝟮/𝟭𝟱, 𝟰-𝟲𝗣𝗠!! Friends, get ready! MARIA of @knit.wine will be pouring fresh and vibrant natural wines from Slovenia, Hungary, and Greece. We know for most, trying to pronounce these words can be pretty challenging, but come by tomorrow and let’s learn together. Here’s the line up… 💛Črnko-Jareninčan- Štajerska, Slovenia (not pictured) All grown on the family’s six hectares of mixed white varietals planted in the region’s unique marl soils, and all sustainably farmed. High toned Laski Reisling and Ravenec, aromatic Muscats, and a silty minerality characteristic of the estate define this vintage. Thirst, quenching, and light on its feet, with a healthy acidity, makes it hard to put down. 💜Heimann & Fiai- Kadarka- Szekszárd, Hungary Harvested at the end of August to early September, fermentation began in large wooden and steel open vats, 10-12 days maceration, twice daily foot trodden and then aged five months (full malo) in used oak. Think old school Poulsard, albeit with Hungarian herbal cherry and spice. This is a light and refreshing red and a whole new category! 💜Kontozisis- Soft Nails Limniona- Katdista, Greece Andreas Kontozisis and his partner Aphrodite Tousia are working passionately with the area’s indigenous red grape, Limniona, among others, for which they have developed proprietary vineyard techniques to get as much concentration as possible from the variety’s large grapes. All grapes are hand harvested and pruned from the low-yield estate-owned vineyards of 11 hectares. Kontozisis uses no press (only free run wines) and no commercial yeasts. Layered blueberry, vanilla, and cracked black pepper. Generous palate with a dense medium body, velvety creamy tannins, and a long fruity aftertaste. 💜Slavček- Crno Red Cuvée-Vipavska, Slovenia Slavček Is the name of an old winery in the Slovenia Vipavska Dolina, whose origin is traced back to 1769. There are 6 hectares of property, planted in both native and international grapes. This refreshing and pleasantly rustic red blend is an every day wine.
