Tim Kennelty (1958-2026) - Grateful to Have Known this Gardener
Taghkanic’s champion of all things green passed away on Saturday after a long and graceful battle with stomach cancer. Tim leaves behind his husband Harris Spylios and his two dogs Sam and Theo.
Tim spearheaded many initiatives in his role as a member of the Climate Smart Communities Committee, including this year’s Taghkanic Talks series on the The Plants and Animals in Your Back Yard, creation of the pollinator garden at Town Hall, and the community planting project at Lake Taghkanic State Park. Tim was instrumental in the establishment of the Taghkanic Community Forest and Tim’s Woods, a forest restoration project at the Forest named in his honor.
